Since Hurricane Katrina, artists in New Orleans and Gulf South have been creating work that is reflective of their recovery process. Gerald Haessing is part of a group of local artists with www.neworleansthanksyou.com, who donate a portion of their proceeds to nonprofits helping to rebuild New Orleans. Gerald's "Merci Collection" of jewelry features the French fleur-de-lis design, now a symbol for the rebuilding, recovery, and pride for their beloved city, New Orleans. Proceeds from the sale of this jewelry are donated to the Headwaters Relief Organization. |
